2010 Foothills Forum
May 26, 1-6 pm, Miners' Foundry, Nevada City
The waterways, oak woodlands, and ranches in the Nevada, Placer and Yuba County foothills provide critical wildlife habitat and migration connectivity, scenic open space, and convey vital water from Sierra Nevada snowmelt to the people and agricultural lands of California. The foothills also sustain local economies through rangelands and unique recreational opportunities.
Please join us to learn new information including the roll-out of new scientific research funded by the Sierra Nevada Conservancy. Come learn about why the foothills are significant for water quality and conveyance, biodiversity, climate change adaptation and the rural economy.
